We are happy to sponsor a coach bus trip from the Southern Tier to Our Lady of the Martyrs Shrine in Auriesville, NY on Saturday, October 21, 2023 for the New York State Eucharistic Congress. This is a great opportunity to participate in the national Eucharistic Revival. We will join as many as 10,000 Catholics from across the state for talks, a Eucharistic Procession, and Holy Mass with bishops from across the state. (See the Congress schedule. We expect to arrive at the Shrine between 9:15-9:30 am.)
We anticipate an early-morning departure from these locations:
- 4:45 am from Corning, NY (St. Mary’s Church, 155 State St, Corning, NY 14830)
- 5:20 am from Horseheads, NY (St. Mary Our Mother Church, 816 W. Broad St, Horseheads, NY 14845)
- 6:00 am from Waverly, NY (St. James Church, 503 Clark St, Waverly, NY 14892)
- 6:40 am from Owego, NY (St. Patrick Church, 309 Front St, Owego, NY 13827)
For our return trip, we expect to depart around 5:30 pm after the eucharistic procession (with time to grab dinner on the Shrine grounds), with the last drop-off in Corning to be before 10 pm.
Cost: $65 to cover coach transportation to the Shrine, due in advance. Sorry, we are not able to process credit cards.
To register: call Blessed Trinity Parish at 607-687-1068 Monday to Thursday, 8 am to 3 pm. (Or leave a message and we will call you back.) Please have the following information handy:
- Name of the Pilgrim
- Phone and/or Email contact information
- Preferred Departure Location (Corning, Horseheads, Waverly or Owego)
- Emergency Contact name
- Emergency Contact phone number
Deadline to register: Wednesday, September 20, 2023
Additional notes:
- Costs for this pilgrimage cover transportation only. There is no admission fee for the Congress, but all participants will need a numbered entry card to enter the shrine grounds. Blessed Trinity Parish has already reserved entry cards for pilgrims who join us. Only those who travel to the Congress on their own will need to make their own arrangements for entry cards through the Congress website.
- Pilgrims will need to purchase food and beverages at the Shrine, or may bring picnic baskets. In addition, the Congress will have a large exhibition area where Pilgrims will be able to purchase religious goods and publications.
- We welcome donations to defray the cost of participation of those for whom the cost would be a hardship.
